After Islamabad United duo, PCB suspends Nasir Jamshed

DUBAI: Pakistan Cricket Board Monday provisionally suspended Nasir Jamshed from all forms of cricket for violating its anti-corruption code, Pakistan Super League Chairman Najam Sethi announced.
In a Twitter message, Najam Sethi wrote: “PCB has provisionally suspended Nasir Jamshed from all forms of cricket for violating its anti-corruption code @TheRealPCB”.
The move comes following reports that Nasir had arranged the meeting between the suspended Islamabad United players Khalid Lateef and Sharjeel Khan, and bookies via WhatsApp messages.
While Sharjeel and Latif were provisionally suspended and sent back to Pakistan, three other players – Muhammad Irfan, Shahzaib Hassan and Zulfiqar Babar – were also questioned by the PCB’s anti corruption unit.
Today, PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan declared Shahzaib Hassan and Zulfiqar Babar free and clear, saying that Irfan was still under investigation.

“No action will be taken against Hasan and Babar as they are clear. Irfan is still under investigation and may be served a show cause notice,” said Khan.
Both Latif and Sharjeel have denied any involvement.
“I have not done anything wrong and my Allah knows that,” Latif told media in Karachi.
Sharjeel has played one Test, 25 one-day and 15 Twenty20 internationals, and recently landed a contract to play English county cricket later this year.
Latif has played five one-day and 13 Twenty20 internationals
